In a `500mL` of `0.5M CuSO_(4)` solution, during electrolysis `1.5xx10^(23)` electron were passed using copper electrodes. Assume the volume of solution remains unchanged during electrolysis. Which of the following statements is`//` are correect?
`a.` At the end of electrolysis, the concentration of the solution is `0.5M`.
`b. 7.9 g` of `Cu` is deposited on the cathode.

The correct Answer is:
a,b,d

Electrolysis of aqueous solution of `CuSO_(4)` Using `Cu` electrodes `(` active electrodes `) : Cu` is dissolved at `Cu` anode and deposited at `Cu` cathode, and there is no change in the concentration of `CuSO_(4)` solution.
`:. [Cu^(2+)]_(befo re)=[Cu^(2+)]_(after)=0.5M`
So statement `(a)` is correct.
moles of `e^(-)'s` number of Faradays `=(1.5xx10^(23))/(6xx10^(23))`
`=0.25F`
`(Cu^(2+)+2e^(-)rarrCu)`
`2e^(-)=2F1 mol of Cu^(2+)`
`:. 0.25F=0.125 mol of Cu^(2+)`
`=-.125 xx63.5g`
`7.93g `of `Cu` is deposited on the cathode
So statement `(b)` is also correct.
Same amount of `Cu^(2+)` ions are discharged from the solution to give same amount of `Cu` deposited at cathod.
So statement `(d)` is also correct.
Hence statments `(a,b,` and `d)` are correct.
