Reimer-Tiemann" reaction : When phenol is heated with chloroform in the presence of sodium hydroxideat `60^(@)` C, a -CHO group is introduced atihe ortho position with respect to the phenolic group. This reaction is known as Reimer-Tiemann reaction.
