Cross aldol condensation : Aldol condensation between two different aldehydes and / or ketones is called cross aldol condensation. If both of them.contain `alpha`-hydrogen, a mixture of four products will be obtained.
For example, a mixture of acetaldehyde and propional dehyde undergoes cross aldol condensation in the presence of dilute sodium hydroxide solution to give a mixture of four products
