On cosider the given circuit diagram and simplifying it further a little bit, have get it as follows

Resistance between arm.
`XY R_("net")XY = (1)/(5) K Omega = (1000)/(5) Omega`
Resistance between arm `YZ, R_("net") YZ = (1)/(3)k Omega = (1)/(3) k Omega = (1000)/(3) Omega`
So, `R_("net")=R_("net")XY+R_("net")YZ`
We get, `R_("net")=(1000)/(5)+(1000)/(3)=(8000)/(15)Omega`
According to Ohm.s law, V = IR
`I=(8xx15)/(8000)=15mA`
