The number of amplitude modulated broadcast stations that can be accomdated in a 300 kHz band width for the highest modulating frequency `15 kHz` will be

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Any station being modulated by a 5 kHz signal will produce an upper side frequency 5 kHz above its carrier and a lower side frequency 5 kHz below its carrier thereby requiring a bandwidth of 10 kHz.
Thus, Number of stations accommodated
`("Total banwidth")/("Band width per station")=(100)/(10)=10`
