What is a fuse ? Name the material of fuse. State one characteristic of the material used for fuse.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

No. `V_d = i/(neA)` For a given material n and e are constants. But `V_d` depends on the amount of current i flowing through the conductor and also on the area of cross section A.
That is why we find `v_d ~ 10^(-3) ms^(-1)` etc. with different orders of magnitude for copper.
