(i) Mole fraction : It may be defined as the ratio of the number of moles of one component (solute or solvent) to the total number of all the component present in solution.
(ii) Isotonic solution : Two solution are said to be isotonic when they exert the same osomotic pressure because they have the same molar concentration. All intravenous injection must be isotonic with body fluids.
(iii) Van't Hoff factor : It may be defined as the ratio of normal moelcular mass to the solute.
`i = ("Observed Colligative Property")/("Calculated Colligative Property")`
`i = ("Total number of mole of Particle after association")/("Number of association moles of Particles before")`
`i = ("normal mass")/("abnormal mass")`
(iv) Ideal solution : Ideal Solution is the solution which follows Raoult's law, `DeltaH_("mix") = O, DeltaV_("mix") = 0`. In an ideal solution force attraction between `A - B` are equal to that in `A - A` and `B - B`.
