What do you understand by the order of a reaction ? Identify the reaction order from each of the following units of the reaction rate constant :
(i) `L^(-1) mol s^(-1)`
(ii) `L mol s^(-1)`

Text Solution

Order of reactin : The sum of exponents (power) of the concentration of reactants in the rate law is termed as order of the reaction. It can be zero also.
(i) `L^(-1)` mol `S^(-1)` zero order reaction.
(ii) `L^(-1)` mol `S^(-1)` Second order reaction.
