All Lewis acids are not Bronsted acids. Why?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

A Lewis acid is that which accept a lone pair.
Eg :`BF_3` can accept a lone pair.
A Bronsted acid is that which donate.a proton. Eg : HCl. So Lewis acids may not contain proton but can accept lone pair: Hence all Lewis acids are not Bronsted acids.
