The pH of a solution may be defined as negative logarithm of hydrogen ion concertration.
pH=-log [`H^(+)`]
Buffer solution : A buffer solution is the solution which can resist the change ion pH on addition of small amount of acid or base.
Henderson - Hasselbalch equation :
`p^H` of Acid Buffer solution is given by
`pH = pK_a + log ("[Salt]")/("[Acid]")`
pH of Base Buffer solution is given by pH = 14 - `pK_b-log ("[Salt]")/("[Base]")`
