A charge of 1 muC is given to one plate ...

A charge of `1 muC` is given to one plate of a parailel - plate capacitor of capacitance `0.1muF ` and a charge of `2 muC ` is given to the other plate . Find the potential difference developed between the plate .

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`q_1 = 1 mu C = 1 xx 10^(-6) C, `
`q_2 = 2 mu C = 2 xx 10^(-6) C, `
`C = 0.1 mu F = 1 xx 10^(-7) F, `
net `q = C = - 0.5 xx 10^(-6) C `
potential 'V' `= - 5 V`
But potential can never be - ve
So `v = 5V` .
