Calculate the current through the circuit and the petential difference across the diode shown in figure .The drift current for the diode is `20 mu A`.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

(a) Current in the Circuit = Drift Current (Since , the dioda is reverse biased.)
(b)Vatage across the dioda
` = 5-(20xx20xx10^(-6))`
` = 5-(4xx10^(-4))`
` = 10^(-4)(50000-4)`
` = 49996xx10^(-4)`
` = 4.9996V = 5V`
