A person travelling by a car moving at `100 km h^(-1)` finds that his wristwatch agress with the clock in a tower A. By what amount will his wristwatch lag or lead the clock on another tower B, 1000km (in the earth's frame ) from the tower A when the car reaches there?

Here ` v = 100 km / h` ,
`Delta t = proper time interval `
` = 0.6 s^(-1) `
` Delta t' = Delat t / (sqrt 1 - V^(2)/ c^(2)) `
` = (sqrt (10 xx 3600 ) / 1 - (1000 / 36 xx 3xx10^(8)^(2)))`
` Delta t ' = 10 xx 3600 [ 1 - (1000 / 36 xx 3 xx 10^(8) )^(2) ]^(-1/2) Delta t `
by solving We get,
` Delta t - Deltat ' = 0.154 ns `
`:.` Time will lag by 0.154 ns ` .

A car is moving with at a constant speed of 60 km h^(-1) on a straight road. Looking at the rear view mirror, the driver finds that the car following him is at a distance of 100 m and is approaching with a speed of 5 km h^(-1) . In order to keep track of the car in the rear, the driver begins to glance alternatively at the rear and side mirror of his car after every 2 s till the other car overtakes. If the two cars were maintaining their speeds, which of the following statement (s) is // are correct?

A straight highway leads to the foot of a tower. A man standing at the top of the tower observes a car at an angle of depression of 30^(@) , which is approaching the foot of the tower with a uniform speed. Six seconds later, the angle of depression of the car is found to be 60^(@) . FInd the time taken by the car to reach the foot of the tower from this point.

A bird is tossing (flying to and fro) between two cars moving towards each other on a straight road. One car has a speed of 18 km/h while the other has the speed of 27 km/h. The bird starts moving from first car towards the other and is moving with the speed of 36 km/h and when the two cars were separated by 36 km. What is the total distance covered by the bird?

On a two-ane road, car A is travelling with a speed of 36 km h ^(-1). Two cars B and C approach car A in opposite directions with a speed of 54 km h ^(-1) each. At a certain instant, when the distance AB is equal to AC, both being 1 km, B decides to overtake A before C does. What minmum acceleration of car B is required to avoid an accident ?

Form the pair of linear equations in the following problems and find their solutions (if they exist) by any algebraic method: Places A and B are 100 km apart on a highway. One car starts from A and another from B at the same time. If the cars travel in the same direction at different speeds, they meet in 5 hours. If they travel towards each other, they meet in 1 hour. What are the speeds of the two cars?

In the figure there is a long horizontal bridge over a river 75 m high from water surface. A strong man throws a stone in the parallel plane of the bridge. A observer in a car travelling on the bridge finds the stone going pass by the car while ascending and also while descending between two points on the road 30 m away. The car is travelling at a speed of 15 m/s. The stone is thrown from the bank of river just at the same level of water. What is the distance between car and atone at the instant when particle reaches at point B ?

Two motor cars start from A simultaneously & reach B after 2 hour. The first car travelled half the distance at a speed of v_(1)=30 km hr^(-1) & the other half at a speed of v_(2)=60 km hr^(-1) . The second car covered the entire with a constant acceleration. At what instant of time, were the speeds of both the vehicles same? Will one of them overtake the other enroute?
