A vessel of volume 30m3 contains an Ideal gas at room temperature and pressure 5.16 bar. The gas Is allowed to leak till its pressure falls to atmospheric pressure. Assuming that the process to be isothermal, the number of moles of the gas that have leaked are _____ `xx 10^(4)`
(Consider `R = 8.32 "J mol"^(-1) K^(-1)` , atmospheric pressure = 1 bar = `10^5` Pa)

The correct Answer is:
`95.00`

Before leakage,
`PV = n_(1)RT`………. (i)
After leakage,
P.V = `n_2RT` .....(ii)
Number of moles of gas leaked is given by, `(n_(1) - n_(2))`
Subtracting equation (ii) from equation (i),
`n_(1) - n_(2) = (PV)/(RT) - (P.V)/(RT)`
`therefore n_(1) - n_(2) = V/(RT) (P - P.)`
`= 30/(8.32 xx (27 + 273)) xx (5.16 -1) xx 10^(5)`
`= (30 xx 4.16 xx 10^(5))/(8.32 xx 300)`
`therefore n_(1) - n_(2) = 0.5 xx 10^(4)`
