Which of the following are electromagnet...

Which of the following are electromagnetic waves ?

A

Cosmic rays

B

Gamma rays

C

`beta^(+)` - rays

D

`beta^(-)` - rays

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
B

Cosmic rays are coming from outer space, having high energy charged particles, like a-particle, proton etc. 0-rays are the stream of high energy electrons/positrons coming from the nucleus of radioactive atoms. Electromagnetic rays would not deflect when passed through an electric field or magnetic field because they do not carry any charge. So, Gamma rays are electromagnetic rays.
