There is a U-tube of different cross sectional area `A = 2.5 cm^2` and 4A of limbs fitted with the frictionless pistons each of mass m= 1 kg. An ideal liquid of density `rho= 2000 kg //m^3` is filled in the tube and the tube is accelerated in horizontal direction with a constant acceleration 'a'. Find the value of acceleration 'a' (in `m//s^2` ) for which both pistons stay in the same horizontal level. The length of horizontal section of U-tube is l =1 m. (Take `g = 10 m//s^(2)` )

The correct Answer is:
`00015.00`

`Deltap=(mg)/(A)-(mg)/(4A)`
`implies rhoal= (3mg)/(4A)`
`a=(3mg)/(4Arhol)= (3xx1xx10)/(4xx2.5 xx10^(-4)xx2xx10^3 xx1)= 15 m//s^2`

Length of horizontal arm of a uniform cross section U -tube is l= 21 cm and ends of both of the vertical arms are open to surrounding of pressure 10500 N//m^(2) . A liquid of density rho = 10^(3) kg//m^(3) is poured into the tube such that liquid just fills the horizontal part of the tube. Now one of the open ends is sealed and the tube is then rotated about a vertical axis passing through the other vertical arm With angular velocity omega_(0) = 10 rad//s . If length of each vertical arm is a = 6 cm , calculate the length of air column in the sealed arm. (in cm)
