Which of the following 0.1M aqueous solution will have the lowest freezing point?

A

Potassium sulphate

B

Sodium chloride

C

Urea

D

Glucose

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
A

Ure and glucose do not dissociate in the solution whereas others dissociate in 2 ions of `Na^(+) Cl^(-)` and 3 ions of `K^(+) SO_(4)^(2-)` in the solution. Higher number of ions favour more depression in freezing point.
