The displacement-time graph of a lift climbing from the ground floor to the top of the building is given here.

Which of the following statements are true about the graph?
I. At point P, the lift is stationary.
II. The lift is slowing down from point Q to point R.
III. At point R, the lift is at rest.

A

I and III only

B

II and IV only

C

I, II and III only

D

II, Ill and IV only

The correct Answer is:
C

The time rate of change of displacement gives velocity of a moving abject.
From the given graph, we see the slope (rate of change of displacemtn with tim) decreases as we move from Q to R and at R the curve becomes flat. Therefore , lift is stationary at P and R.

Eshan purchased a new building for her business. Being in the prime location, she decided to make some more money by putting up an advertisement sign for a rental ad income on the roof of the building. From a point P on the ground level, the angle of elevation of the roof of the building is 30^@ and the angle of elevation of the top of the sign board is 45^@ . The point P is at a distance of 24 m from the base of the building. If the point of observation P is moved 10 m towards the base of the building, then the angle of elevation theta of the roof of the building is given by
