A boy uses a single fixed pulley to lift a load of 50 kgf to some height. Another boy uses a single movable pulley to lift the same load to the same height. Compare the effort applied by them. Give a reason to support your answer.

In case of single fixed pulley:
M.A. = 1
`M.A. = ("Load ")/("Effort")`
`therefore 1 = ( 50 kgf)/("Effort"_(1))`
`implies "Effort"_(1) = 50 kgf`
In case of single movable pulley:
`M.A. = 2 `
`therefore 2= (50 kgf)/("Effort"_(2))`
`implies "Effort"_(2) = ( 50 kgf)/(2)`
`"Effort "_(2) = 25 kgf`
`("Effort"_(1))/("Effort"_(2)) = (50 Kgf)/(25 Kgf) = (2)/(1)`
Therefore the boy using a single movable pulley requires lesser effort to lift an equal load of 50 kgf when comared with the effort required by the boy using a single fixed pulley.
