A fuse is rated 8 A. Can it be used with an electrical appliance rated 5 kW, 200 V ? Give a reason.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

For given appliance P = 5 kW, V = 200 V
`implies I = (P)/(V) = ( 5 xx 1000)/(200) = 25 A`
Since given fuse is rated at = 8 A which is less than 25 A, thus we connot use this fuse in given appliance.
