A flask `P` contains `0.5` mole of oxygen gas. Another flask `Q` contains `0.4` mole of ozone gas. Which of the two flasks contains greater number of oxygen atoms ?

A

Flask `Q` has greater number of oxygen atoms as compared to flask `P`.

B

Flask `P` has greater number of oxygen atoms as compared to flask `Q`.

C

Both flasks `P` and `Q` have same number of oxygen atoms.

D

None of these

The correct Answer is:
A

1 mole of `O_2` contains `2 xx 6.023 xx 10^(23)` oxygen atoms
`:.` 0.5 mole of `O_2` contain ` 2 xx 6.023 xx 10^(23) xx 0.5` oxygen atoms
i.e., `6.023 xx 10^(23)` oxygen atoms.
1 mole of `O_3 ` contains `3 xx 6.023 xx 10^(23)` oxygen atoms
`:.` 0.4 mole of O_3` contains ` 3 xx 6.023 xx 10^(23) xx 0.4` oxygen atoms
i.e., `7.2276 xx 10^(23)` oxygen atoms
Thus , flask II containing ozone has greater number of oxygen atoms as compared to flask I containing oxygen.
