Assertion : We can not change the temperature of a body without giving (or taking) heat to (or from) it.
Reason : According to principle of conservation of energy, total energy of a system should remains conserved.

A

If both assertion and reason are true and the reason is the correct explanation of the assertion.

B

If both assertion and reason are true but reason is not the correct explanation of the assertion.

C

If assertion is true but reason is false.

D

If assertion is false but reason is true.

The correct Answer is:
D

We can change the temperature of a body without giving (or taking) heat to (or from) it. For example in an adiabatic compression temperature rises and in an adiabatic expansion temperature falls, although no heat is given or taken from the system in the respective changes.

Assertion: Energy can not be given to a system without giving it momentum. Reason: If kinetic energy is given to a body it means it has acquired momentum.
