In order to sat up standard target of performance for workers, it was necessary for Shiv Ltd. To fix standard time for workers to performs a particular job. For this Mr. Ganesh, the Production Manager of the company observed the workers when they were performing the job. He used a stopwatch in hand and noted down the averge time taken by workers for completion of the job. He repeated the same observation for 100 times and then calculated average time for the performance of the job.
