A particle starts from rest, accelerates at `2(m)/(s^2)` for 10 s and then goes for constant speed for 30 s and then decelerates at `4(m)/(s^2)`. Till it stops. What is the distance travelled by it?

A

750m

B

800m

C

700m

D

850 m

The correct Answer is:
A

`v_(max) = 2 xx 10 = 20m//s`
When decelerates, time taken to stop
`t= 20/4= 5sec`

Total distance = area under v - t graph
` =1/2 xx 10 xx 20 + 20 xx 30 + 1/2 xx 20 xx 5`
` = 100 + 600 + 50 = 750 m`
