Two points are located at a distance of ...

Two points are located at a distance of `10 m` and `15 m` from the source of oscillation. The period of oscillation is `0.05 `s and the velocity of the wave is `300m//s`. What is the phase difference between the oscillation of two points?

A

`pi`

B

`pi/6`

C

`pi/3`

D

`(2pi)/(3)`

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
D

Since, `v=lamda f=(lamda)/(T)`
`implies lamda =300xx0.05=15m`
Path difference `=15-10=5m`
Now, phase difference `=(2pi)/(lamda)xx`path difference
`=(2pi)/(15)xx5=(2pi)/(3)`.
