Assertion : The properties of paramagn...

Assertion : The properties of paramagnetic and ferromagnetic substance are not effected by heating.
Reason : As temperature rises, the alignment of molecular magnets gradually decreases.

A

If both assertion and reason are true and the reason is the correct explanation of the assertion.

B

If both assertion and reason are true but reason is not the correct explanation of the assertion.

C

If assertion is true but reason is false.

D

If assertion is false but reason is true.

The correct Answer is:
D

The properties of a substance is due to alignment of molecules in it. When these substances are heated, molecules acquire some kinetic energy. Some of the molecules may get back to the closed chain arrangement (leading to zero resultant). So, they lose their magnetic property or magnetism. Therefore, the properties of both ferromagnetic and paramagnetic are affected by heating.
