Cyclic hydrocarbon molecules `'A'` has all the carbon and hydrogen in a single plane. All the carbon-carbon bonds are of same length less than `1.54 Å`, but more than `1.34 Å`. The `C-C` bond angle will be

A

`120^(@)`

B

`180^@`

C

`100^(@)`

D

`109^(@) 28'`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
A

Cyclic hydrocarbon in which all the carbon atoms are present in the same plane is benzene. In this C C bond length is 1.39Å which is more than 1.34Å but less than 1.54Å. Hence bond angle is `120^@` with `sp^2` hybridization.
