Soredia are common reproductive structure of lichens. Soredia are powdery propagules composed of fungal hyphae wrapped around cyanobacteria or green algae. The soredia are released through opening in the upper cotex of the lichen structure. After their release soredia disperse to establish the lichen in new location.
