The Ganong’s periscope consists of a bulb like a part and a bent tube. Some germinating seeds are taken in the bulb and mouth of the bent tube is kept immersed in a beaker containing KOH a solution and the flask is cut off from the outside atmosphere and left undisturbed for a few hours.
