Wobble hypothesis was proposed by Fracis Crick in 1966. A theory proposed to explain the partial degeneracy of the genetic code in some tRNA molecules can recognize more than one codon. It is proposed that first 2 bases in the codon and anticodon will form complementary pairs i.e. (1 and 2) of codon and corresponding bases (3 and 2) in anticodon. The base 1 in anticodon can form non – Watson base pairing with third position of codon
