Two reactions are given below`:`
(i) `H_(2)O(g)+(1)/(2)O_(2)(g) rarrH_(2)O(l)`
(ii) `H_(2)(g)+(1)/(2)O_(2)(g) rarr H_(2)O(g)`
Which one will have greater value of `DeltaH` and why ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Reaction(i) will have greater value of `DeltaH`because when `H_(2)O(g)` condenses to form`H_(2)O(l)` , some heatis evolved ( called heat of condensation).
