At what depth the acceleration due to gravity becomes zero ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

As `g'=g[1-(d)/(R_(e))]`
`therefore g[1-(d)/(R_(e))]=0`
`1-(d)/(R_(e))=0`
`therefore 1=(d)/(R_(e))`
`therefore d=R_(e)`
So, if we move to the centre of earth then the acceleration due to gravity becomes zero.
