What will be the time period of a pendulum which beats seconds ( i.e.,it passes through the mean position after every one second ) it its length is doubled ?
Hint `: T = 2pi sqrt((L)/(g))=2` ....(i)
`T' = 2pi sqrt((2L)/(g)) `
Fin `T'` using equation (i)

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`T = 2p sqrt((L)/(g)) = 2`
`T' = 2pi sqrt((2L)/( g)) = sqrt(2) xx 2pi sqrt((L)/( g)) = sqrt(2) xx 2 = 2.828 s`
