At what temperature will the speed of sound be double of its value at `0^@C ` ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Let v be the velocity at `0^(@)C` (273K)
`thereforevpropsqrt(273)` . . . (i)
also `2vpropsqrt(T)` . . . (ii)
Dividing (i) by (ii), we have
`2=sqrt((T)/(273))`
or `T=4xx273`
`=1092K=819^(@)C`
