The figure shows a long straight current carrying conductor. Can you plot the variation of magnetic field on x-axis ?

At a point in x-y plane, `vec(B) = (mu_(0)i)/(2pix) " for " |x| gt R`
`vec(B) = (mu_(0)ix)/(2piR^(2)) " for " |x| lt R`
And direction of `vec(B)` can be found by using Right Hand Thumb Rule

This graph thus shows that magnetic field first increases with distance from axis of cylinder reaching maximum at the surface and decreasing thereafter.
