The time taken by a pendulum to complete...

The time taken by a pendulum to complete 25 vibrations is 88.0 s. Find the time period of the pendulum in second upto appropriate significant figures.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Time period of oscillation =`"Total time taken"/"Number of oscillations"=88.0/25 s`=3.52 s
Out of the two quantities given the data, 25 is exact hence has infinite significant figures. Therefore the answer should be reported to three significant figures. i.e., 3.52 seconds.
