(a) The mycelium of Mucor sometime from thin-walled bead like structures called oidia, when it grows in a medium rich in nutrient like sugar , they finally get separated from one another and multiply by budding like the cells of yeast . Each of these grows into a new mycelium. This stage in Mucor / Rhizopus is termed tortula stage .
