Let `2tan^(-1)1/5=theta`. Then, `tan^(-1)1/5=1/2=theta rArr tan1/2theta=1/5`.
`therefore tantheta=(2tan1/2theta)/(1-tan^(2)1/2theta)=(2 xx 1/5)/(1-1/25)=(2/5 xx 25/24)=5/12`.
`therefore tan[2tan^(-1)1/5-pi/4]=tan(theta-pi/4)=(tantheta-tanpi/4)/(1+tantheta.tanpi/4)`
