The equartion of line which passes through the point of intersection of `2x+3y-5=0andx+y-2=0` and also which is farthest from (2,3).

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`2x+3y-5=0" "...(i)`
`x+y-2=0" "...(ii)`
By (i) and (ii) `x=y=1`
,Let `A-=(1,1)and B-=(2,3)`

The required line will be perpendicular to AB and passes through the point A.
Slope `m=-(2-1)/(3-1)=-1/2`
Equation is `y-1=-1/2(x-1)`
`2y-2=-x+1`
`2y+x=3`
