Find the foot of perpendicular drawn fro...

Find the foot of perpendicular drawn from a point
P(2, 3, 5) on the coordinate planes.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Let L, M and N be the foot of perpendicular
segments drawn from the point P(2, 3, 5) on the
XY, YZ and XZ planes, respectively. Since L lies
in XY-planes. Therefore, z-coordinate is zero.
Hence, coordinate of L is (2, 3, 0). Similarly, we
can find the coordinates of M and N as (0, 3, 5)
and (2, 0, 5) respectively.
