200 mL of hydrogen and 250 mL of nitrogen each measured at `15^(@)C` and 760 mm pressure are but together in a 500 mL flask. What will be the final pressure of the mixture at `15^(@)C` ?

The correct Answer is:
D

As temperature iskept constant at `15^(@)C`, for calculation of partial pressure of `H_(2)` gas,
`P_(1)V_(1)=P_(2)V_(2), i.e., 200xx760=P_(2)xx500, i.e., p_(H_(2))=304 mm`
For calculation of partial pressure of `N_(2)`,
`P_(1)'V_(1)'=P_(2)'V_(2)', i.e., 760xx250=P_(2)'xx500, i.e., p_(N_(2))=380 mm`
`:. `Final pressure of the mixture =304+380=684 mm
