What is the difference between gas and vapour ?

A substance which is in gaseous state at room temperature is called a gas. However, if a substance is not in gaseous state at room temperature but changes into gaseous state on heating, then the gaseous state obtained is called vapour or when a gas is below its critical temperature, it is called vapour.
