With the help of an example explain how do transquilizers control the feeling of depression ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Noradrenaline is a neurotransmitter which plays an important role in mood changes If somehow a person has low level of noradrenaline in the body, then the signal sending activity becomes slow and the person suffers from depression. In order to remove depression and to boost the mood, tranquillizers are used. These drugs inhibit the enzyme which catalyse the degradation of noradrenaline. As a result. neurotransmitter noradrenaline is slowly metabolized and can thus activate the receptor for longer periods.
