Write the principle of a thermal power plant ? What are disadvantages of installing such power plants ?

Principles of Thermal Power Plants :
A fossil fuel like Kerosene oil or Diesel or LPG is burnt to produce heat energy. This heat energy is then used to produce steam.The heat energy of the steam is then transformed to Kinetic energy, to rotate the turbine blades. Then this Kinetic energy is tranformed into eletric energy in the generator.
Disadvantages of such plants :
(i) These plants use fossil fuels, which are non-renewable sources of energy and these are getting depleted at a very fast rate.
(ii) Burning of fossilfuels in these plants produces a lot of harmful and polluting gases.
