Find the equation for the ellipse that satisfies the given conditions:Vertices `(0,+-13),`foci `(0,+-5)`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Equation of ellipse can be given as
`x^2/a^2+y^2/b^2 = 1`
Here, we are given, `b = 13`
`c = 5`
So, `a^2 = b^2-c^2`
`=> a^2 = 13^2-5^2 = 169-25 = 144`
