In rhombus ABCD, diagonals AC and BD intersect each other at point O If cosine of angle CAB is 0.6 and OB 8 cm, find the lengths of the side and the diagonals of the rhombus.

Text Solution

If we draw a figure with the given conditions,(Please refer figure in video)
`(OB)/(AB) = sintheta`
Given that `OB = 8cm` and `costheta=0.6`
`8/(AB) = sqrt(1-cos^2theta)`
`AB = 8/0.8 = 10cm`
Also,`(AO)/(AB)=costheta=0.6`
`AO=6cm`
So, diagonal `AC = 6**2 = 12 cm`
