` Rightarrow 4(cos^(2) x + sin^(2)x) + 2 sin^(2) x=5`
` [ therefore cos^(2)x + sin^(2) x=1]`
` Rightarrow 2sin^(2) x = 5-4`
` Rightarrow sin x = +- 1/sqrt2`
` x = n pi +- pi/4`
