Slasg formed is not soluble in molten iron and hence floats on the layer of molten iron as separate layer. Slag layer is above molten iron and hence prevents reoxidation of molten iron. Slag van be easily removed iron. Slag can be easily removed from bottom of furnace and hence used in cement industry.
