adsorber

B

adsorbate

C

adsorbent

D

occulusion

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
C

Adsorption is the phenomenon of attracting and retaining molecules of a substance on the surface of solid or liquid resulting into higher concentration of molecules on the surface. The substance thus adsorbed on the surface is called absorbate in the substance on which it is adsorbed is called adsorbent.
So, activated charcoal is adsorbent here because oxalic acids adsorbed on its surface.
