If a=2sqrt(2),b=6,A=45^(@), then...

If `a=2sqrt(2),b=6,A=45^(@)`, then

A

no triangle is possible

B

one triangle is possible

C

two triangles are possible

D

Either no triangle or two triangles are possible

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
A

Using sing rule,
`(a)/(sinA)=(b)/(sin B)`
`rArr (2sqrt(2))/(sin 45^(@))=(6)/(sinB) `
`rArr sin B=(6)/(2sqrt(2))xx(1)/(sqrt(2))`
`=(6)/(4)=(3)/(2) gt 1`
which is not possible.
Hence, no triangle is possible.
